Outside Food and Drink
Some children in our care have highly sensitive food allergies and even the mere contact with a surface that has touched a particular food item can cause an anaphylactic reaction. Any outside food or drink will be discarded immediately unless it has been prearranged with our Center Manager and/or cook .

Food Allergies and Substitutions
If your child has been determined by a doctor to be disabled, and the disability would prevent your child from eating the regular meals at the Center, you must have your child’s doctor complete a CACFP Medical Disability Statement that describes the disability and prescribes the alternative foods needed, verifying that special meal components are needed due to a disability. We will then work with clients on a case-by-case basis to make sure their child is receiving nutritionally balanced meals while in our care.

The only exception to this is milk. If your child cannot drink cow’s milk due to medical or other special dietary needs but does not have a diagnosed medical disability, you may complete a Request for Fluid Milk Substitution form. Our Center currently provides a USDA approved soy milk alternative that is nutritionally equivalent to cow’s milk. Parents may request to provide other USDA approved lactose-free options at their own expense.
All food allergies will be posted in locations where food is prepared and served.

Milk
Children who are 12-24 months old will be served unflavored whole milk. Children two years of age and older will be served unflavored low-fat (1%) or fat-free milk.* Breastmilk is considered an allowable fluid milk of any age.
*Low-fat (1%) or fat-free flavored milk may occasionally be served to children six years of age and older during special events such as field trips. In compliance with new FSN regulations, effective October 1, 2017 only fat-free flavored milk will be served.

Robyn's Nest
Preschool and Playcare Center
My son has attended Robyn’s Nest since he was 4 years old. He has spent time in the Mighty Lions prekindergarten class, the extended-day kindergarten class, and now receives before and after school care in the Super Stars Class. The last two years Cody has participated in the summer Camp Alliwannado program and absolutely LOVES it! Every day he and his friends are off on a different exciting adventure or engaged in a new hands on activity with his teacher. It’s the perfect fit for my active little boy.

I worked at Robyn’s Nest as a substitute teacher off and on for about a year, mainly in the infant and toddler classrooms, before I moved out of state. The Director and Manager made it clear from day one that their goal was not to meet state minimum licensing requirements, but to far exceed them. All someone has to do is take a tour of their facility to see all the amazing things they do with the children. Art projects and photos of the children doing engaging activities are posted everywhere! ALL the equipment, furniture and toys are like new, and to top it off the facility is CLEAN – no gagging locker-room smell that most centers have.
I’m a former employee. I’ve since gone on to a nursing program across the country. I have no incentive or ulterior motive to promote this center, but I do anytime I’m given the chance. lf you live in Spokane and are looking for not just average childcare, but outstanding, over-the-top, great childcare – GO HERE!!

We chose Robyn's Nest after touring several other facilities. As soon as we walked in it was obviously sparkling clean and much more bright and cheerful than the other places we had looked at. Six years and two kids later they feel like family.
It is so nice to drop my kids off where they are so excited to be there I have to get their attention to say goodbye. The teachers are amazing and obviously connect with the kids of all ages. They are constantly introducing new toys and activities and my daughter was way ahead of her peers when she started Kindergarten this fall. They have an amazing compliance record, and their adherence to safety protocols and regulation is very strict. The food is delicious and made from scratch, and communication between teachers and parents is excellent. I can't say enough about how great they have been and how nice it is as a working mom to know that your kids are safe and happy during the day.
We love Robyn's Nest!

Both of my children have attended Robyn's Nest from the age of infants. The love and affection they have both been shown in my absence is beyond compare. I have always been able to check in on both girls and know instantly they are extremely well cared for. Our youngest suffered a seizure while in the care of the teachers and their immediate response to her needs confirmed my knowledge of just how great of a place this is. My children both entered school beyond ready.
I can't say enough about the teachers and staff at Robyn's Nest. This is THE ONLY daycare I would ever take my children too, and I have been behind the scenes of other centers. I am forever grateful for the love and commitment this center has shown to my children. Words will never truly express my gratitude.
Thank you Robyn's Nest!
