A Peek at Last Week
Well summer decided it was over in a hurry~
Temperatures dropped from nearly 90 degrees on Tuesday to the mid 60's for the remainder of the week. And with rain in the forecast for the first time in 80 days it looks like we will all be forced to get those jackets out of storage next week.
With many of our students in new classrooms this is also a good time to check with your child's teacher to make sure we have appropriate spare clothing in case of an accident or emergency.
And if you haven't picked up your child's 2017-18 Enrollment Packet please do so ASAP! It is very important that we have your most current information on file. Once these are processed, Ms Lindsey will send out further information regarding fall parent-teacher conferences.
New fall menus will be posted on the website soon. We apologize for the delay and ask that you please bear with us ~ a lot of new USDA policy changes go into effect October 1, 2017 and we want to make sure that we are meeting ALL the new guidelines. Things to look for on the new menu: lower sugar content in breakfast cereals and even more whole grain rich foods.
In sad news, we are all aware of the tragic events that took place at Freeman High School earlier this week. When events like this happen it sets off our "parent panic alarms". Please know that the security and safety of your children are our number one priority here at Robyn's Nest. When events like this happen our staff receives email updates from both Central and East Valley School Districts (for non-school related events we follow instructions issued directly by the Spokane County Sheriff's Department).
If a facility lock-down is necessary we will notify parents via email and Facebook. Children will be kept indoors and all window blinds closed. Exterior doors will be locked and the only access to the building will be permitted through the secure front entry. We also updated our main lobby with new surveillance cameras for added security.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask!
We are Freeman Strong!
